Answers to frequently asked questions.

Is Valutra accounting software?

No. Valutra focuses on planning and forecasting and does not replace bookkeeping or tax tools.

Can I model business and personal finances?

Yes. You can track both and categorize accordingly. The UI will keep improving to make separation even clearer.

How do plan items and payments work together?

You plan with plan items. When real payments exist, you can link them to planned instances. Important: if a payment exists, the payment wins (no double counting).

Can I model multiple bank accounts?

Yes. You can create multiple bank accounts (e.g. personal and business) and view the forecast per account or combined.

Do you support VAT planning (Germany)?

Yes, as planning support. Valutra can generate VAT-related plan items so expected VAT outflows appear in your forecast. Always verify results.

Is Valutra a tax or accounting tool?

No. Valutra is designed for cashflow planning and forecasting and does not replace accounting, tax advice, or tax software.

What data is stored?

Only what’s required to operate the app is stored (account, bank accounts, balances, plan items, payments, settings). Details: privacy policy and docs → Data & privacy.
